I'd rather get a summons in the post then a wedding invitation

Not me. Not married. So I've yet to inflict that misery on anyone

I got married in a registry office and a handful of people back to the house for a bit of grub.

But anyway the annoyance is being caught on a windy back road behind a filthy animal transporter which is belching volcanoes worth of black smoke and rising a non stop mist of muddy water droplets (because of the unceasing effing rain) going at below 60km/hr. I've pulled in to put space between us. The filthy fecker - wash your truck and fix the exhaust 😤
Thinking out loud, and trying to be occasionally less wrong...

Fcuking Captchas. Every website I open recently seems to require solving a Captcha and I'm pissed off with it. I don't know whether I've changed a setting in my browser or what, but the laptop will be going out the window soon.

We bought our house 8 years ago. And since then every January an invitation arrives in the post for the previous couple who lived there to attend a senior citizens party at a local hotel.

Who would think that someone organizing this event would have released that said couple haven't attended in the last 8 years and check if they're still at that address

I would say the one generating the invitation has HP or Dell stamped on their forehead. :)

Geez things keep breaking. First the powerhose shat itself and now a monitor broke. What's worse is that it was a decent one set up for photo editing.

Oh what an expensive month as I booked flights and ferry tickets.....

I feel your pain.

Have given up trying to get new stuff done this month and concentrate on fixing/replacing everything that's fallen apart, or become unreliable.

Except even that's not going to plan - my Amazon Prime "accelerated delivery" has failed at the first hurdle. A critical spare for my laptop should have been delivered on Wednesday (why I took up the Prime offer); I'm now told it should arrive on Monday. I leave today, with the laptop, and won't be back for two weeks.

Of course the non-critical things I ordered without Prime the day before all came today, several days ahead of schedule, and almost all of my equally non-critical AliExpress orders turned up this morning too, ten days early.

What's worse is that I'm down to one monitor and that just makes working from home painful due to the nature of my work. I normally have one monitor dedicated to whatever machine I've logged into at work and the second for my own computer.

EV drivers with instant torque on tap, accelerating behind me as I pull away from the lights as normal.

The day is fast approaching when I will show one of these muppets just how good the brakes on a modern Mercedes are, compared to those of their battery powered Korean curry tin.

They drive worse than the BMW and Audi drivers do at this stage.

Grrrrrrrr.

Oh I see this all the time. I'm so tempted to get a complete banger and not give them muppets an inch.

I know of one person who drives an old Isuzu Trooper that's perfect mechanically but rough as a badgers arse cosmetically. It's a farm vehicle. If someone tries to muscle in on his lane, drives 2.4mm from his bumper, etc he doesn't give an inch. At the moments it's 3:0 to him when it comes to vehicles he's hit......

Six Nations is on soon.
Which is great as far as I'm concerned.
However.
F'n Irelands Call needs to shot in the face.
A complete bleeding and festering arsehole of a song.

The good old Six Nations. Looking forward to the Guinness ads proclaiming that this is rugby country. Ah yeah

About as annoying as being constantly told that the GAA is part of where we all belong.

100% agree. I enjoy both sports just not most of the marketing nonsense that goes with them

I like both sports too.
I never bought into either the advertising nor the culture of the sports themselves.

Funnily enough, after le Guinness the most frequent comment I get when meeting French people in a professional context is something to do with le rugby. I'd regularly hear references to matches played by Munster or Lay-ee-en-ay-ster on mainstream French news; Ballyboden Saint Endas, not so much.

Got a text yesterday. "Your delivery will be between X and Y times". Great, I'll hang on as I'll be able to go shopping afterwards. I wait and naturally, no delivery. As I waited in case it was running late, no shopping done.....
