As a footy fan (well, Everton, if that still counts!) sad to fear the news about Edwin van der Sar, wishing him a speedy recovery - class player.

He is also the only one of the present squad to have a Premiership winner’s medal, achieved back in 2013 - Seems like ancient history, dosnt it, at this stage? Looks like Onana will be the next keeper, but we still badly need a 20/25 goal a season frontman. Whoever that’ll be!!
Fair enough Utd wanted to move on. But I thought they handled it poorly. I feel DeGea deserved better

He wasn't going to be first choice keeper next season and wasn't keen on taking a wage cut. No matter how much Ten Hag might want him to stay, there is no way they would pay that sort of money for a second string keeper. Thankfully all talk of Pickford seems to have died away, now that would really be a disaster.
Adding my best wishes to Edwin, hope he gets well soon, great keeper and a great servant to United .

Bit of a shitty end to it all I felt. He deserved a better send off than that.
As for a striker, rumor is that we're in for Rasmus Hojlund. Can't say I know much about the lad.

Is DeGea entitled to a testimonial?

Probably is. Testimonials these days are a bit of a joke, they were started to reward players who had been loyal to a club for ten years or more at a time when the wages were buttons, just to give him a little nest egg and show the fans' appreciation before he tried to pick up his life again. Hardly merited for someone earning £375,000+pw. If they do give him one, which I'm sure they will, he should donate the proceeds to charity.

I like that nowadays it’s like a cricket benefit year and charities benefit, one match for fans to say goodbye and a decent wedge for a good cause.

I see Utd are interested in the young Irish striker at Brighton, Evan Ferguson. What a move that would be for him, if it comes to pass!

Anyone else think what the Wrexham manager said about Nathan Bishop staying clear from Wrexham is a bit of a scummy thing to say?
Ok it wasn't a great challenge but I don't think there was any malice in it. Shit happens in football, no need to stoke up more anger about it.

I've watched the tackle back a few times. It was very clumsy but I don't think there was any intent. I can understand the Wrexham being angry but he should have been more careful with his words. I'm sure when he reflects on it he will apologize for it

I'm a Man Utd supporter for many years but I always believe in calling a spade a spade and how you can say there was no intent in that tackle is beyond me. The way Bishop came charging out of his area, leading with his shoulder, there was only one thing on his mind and that was to take Mullin out of the game.

I genuinely think it was just badly timed and with no malice. And I say this as someone who does not support Man Utd

Ok, so 23/24 season kicking off for us tonight. Big year ahead for ten Hag and the new players. Fingers crossed we hit the ground running with a home win against Wolves this evening👍

Well, lucky to get the result and we definitely didn’t hit the ground running. Second best all over the pitch to a tough Wolves team. Hopefully we can only get better!!

Maguire is a busted flush at this stage and all the other Premier teams know it. That's why he's going nowhere, He's uncomfortable on the ball and can't play out from the back. In other words a liability. I'm surprised he's still on the England to be honest, perhaps not for much longer though!

Spurs 2 Utd 0. Insipid, toothless, a lack of urgency ... and that's just Rashford!!! And, to be honest, no one else can hold their head up either. I know we're only two games in but honestly I have seen nothing in either game to suggest we'll challenge for anything this season. Frustrating!

Looks like Anthony is suspended indefinitely until the alleged charges of assault are dealt with. Our season is going from bad to worse.

Another PR disaster. Looks like they've learned nothing from the Greenwood situation. If Ten Hag had any hair left he'd be tearing it out

So, after the international break we have Brighton tomorrow, with both Anthony and Sancho sidelined. Don’t know how to call this, what with Brighton’s current credentials. Should we be happy with a draw? Sad really that that’s where we’re at, at the moment!!

Difficult to know what you're going to get from this Utd side. Personally I'd happily take a draw

Got to fancy Brighton .
They are a better side.

Think united are going to go through a rough patch yet again this season.

Utd 1 Brighton 3. Shocking display, no passion, no plan, no leaders. Headless chickens all of them. Whatever plan ETH has is not working. What is happening to the team I’ve supported for half a century?

Big, big test tonight, away to Bayern Munich, who seldom draw, never mind lose at home in their European matches. Unfortunately, it's looking like a defeat for us with damage limitation a priority.

p.s. Let's hope Kane dosn't score against us.
