5G mobile battery killer ?

Anyone else notice your mobile heat up and battery draining quick when connected to a 5G network?

I've gone into my cellular settings and set it at 2G/3G/4G. The screen is not hot anymore.

Maybe I'm loosing the plot in all of this and gubu is the cause of this.

Edit, if I posted this in the smoking room I bet ye would all think I've just posted a thread to have some conspiracy rant. :D

4G is just fine for high quality YouTube videos. Uploading videos to YouTube using 4g doesn't take an age either.
Leave 5G for the geezers in the radio ads to all spooge on about

Running 2 sims on 5G (physical and esim) and battery life is unaffected in as far as I can tell. Easily get 2 full days from a charge and plenty of use throughout. iPhone 13 Pro Max, so good size battery, but still good going.

Mines a Samsung phone, maybe its the battery on it. I don't usually get over a day on it and I have to recharge it. I've no book face or anything like that running on it. Usually just the browser open with gubu and a few news sites.

I've switched off the 5g network so will see how it goes over the next few days. I keep my phone in my pocket so i don't loose it and I can notice it being hot the last few days which I never really had before.

Have 5G on my Nokia G60. No noticeable battery drain when 5G is in use.

I think the battery drain is when 5G is enabled but not having a 5G SIM plan. The phone will constantly try to upgrade from 4G to 5G network where it's available but then have to re-join 4G on a constant loop
