The previous mentioned James Hoffmann (especially since the Nespresso blender idea)

The Tim Traveller

And Omeleto which has some nice SciFi Shorts:

However, since most of my regular creators have moved onto Nebula, I am using Youtube less and less.

Just spent most of an evening listening to and watching LockPickingLawyer.

I said listening to as the voice is strange some people might not like it but it does fit well with the delivery and the lock picking is just mesmerising.

Another new one. Only watched a couple but there may be some model makers here who haven't come across Olha Batchvarov

This is the one I started on, hopefully she will finish the series.

The Critical Drinker reviews movies and series. I haven't seen a review of his I haven't agreed with.

He's Scottish and his drunk style is very entertaining altogether. He's a professional writer known for the Ryan Drake series so he's probably a real drunk.

This isnt a favourite.
At least it wasnt when I found it.
Unfortunately much of what he says is absolutely true.
While the channel may not be a favourite or compulsive viewing it is a very useful resource

I’ve lost piles of time this past week watching Rowan J Coleman’s Star Trek Retrospectives, they’re great. Only the ones for the films left now.

Mark Felton's World War II channel never fails to intrigue but it can be depressing viewing too. Tonight I watched: "Hitler's ashes may still exist." Now for some escapism....

Even though he's been to Japan Mr Felton has a very open disdain for the Japanese. He had an uncle who was incarcerated by the Japanese during ww2.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I use the Brave browser in its out-of-the-box configuration and haven't ever seen a YT ad. :ugeek:

On other platforms, I used to be moderately tolerant of the before-the-video ads, but since they've started jamming them into videos regardless of how long it might be, and with no respect for the flow of the narrative, I have no compunction in killing every ad at the first opportunity if I can't take other measures to avoid them.

I've been using this adblocker with chrome for the last few days and with a couple of minor bits of stupidity it works well. Very occasionally a blank screen comes up with the ad audio in the background but only at the start of a video and a quick refresh gets rid of it. You can also notice where the ads would have been by millisecond gaps between some scenes.

Use this one. Works great on youtube and most other sites though more and more sites are now detecting ad blockers. I'm amazed youtube haven't addressed it before now.

This English guy, Benjamin, calls his channel Bald and Bankrupt and he visits all kinds of out of the way places, including many former USSR republics. Have binged most of his clips and they are all engrossing. Check out a few and his descriptive and interview style will soon become evident. Here's one from his visit to the troubled country of Armenia:
