Gaming: Learning Flight Simulation X Plane 11 The Hard Way

There is a programming language book called 'Learning Python the Hard Way'

After a prolonged spell of not playing due to the Covid Plague, I've recently restarted playing X Plane 11. Unfortunately my only controller is a Logitech F 710 game controller.

Still, I find myself relearning Flight Sim. Feels weird, but by now I've got use to the Logitech F 710's controls.

I use a GAMDIAS gaming keyboard and mouse. Great gear.

Once upon a time, I used to indulge in a daily dose of MS Flight Simulator, using just keyboard and joystick (always dreamt of getting better kit but never got around to it). The two eldest children used to be my co-pilots while I was babysitting on MrsCR's day off. 8-)

Many years later, I had the opportunity to test a proper professional simulator (albeit fixed, but the with the wrap-around screens it felt like we were moving) and it was surprisingly easy to take charge of the controls, and make a "right first time" landing (which impressed my fully certified pilot colleague).
