I've witnessed this a couple of times over the years in my polytunnel. Slugs suspended and dropping down from the roof of tunnel on my plants. Not sure if the are coming down via a spiders thread or using their own slim. I swiped through above it and immediately fell to the ground.
It seems the slugs in my polytunnel have acquired multi modal attack capabilities in their quest to munch on my plants in the polytunnel.
