One small screw on the strimmer is driving me mad - the one that locks the protective shield in place on the drive shaft. Had to replace it three times this afternoon (well, twice - took the shield off after the third loss)
Anyway, what's on the market these days that'll lock a screw into place on a machine that's subject to a lot of vibration? Preferably something that still allows the screw to be removed when a different head requires the shield to be removed. I have tried superglue, which was only marginally more successful than doing nothing that one time ...

Try a spring washer....these are designed to absorb vibration......but it reads kinda like your threads aren't hectic and hence loosening....a new bolt with the spring washer might not go astray to take up slack
Loctite branded stuff tends to be quiet good, but is expensive enough, something like this would do perhaps?

Edit:in event it's fecked threads, you can buy helicoil kits, containing drill bit,tap and coils for whatever size you want,DONT use loctite with these (obvious buy whatever size you need, not full kit)
