Craft Beer Tasting

Post by Norman Breaks »

Do you count this as a hobby? Not sure where else it fits in. Anyway, a place to chat about craft beers you've had and if you enjoyed them or not.

I had one of these last night:

TBH a Blueberry Lemon Oatshake IPA didn't and really, still doesn't sound the most appealing of beer descriptions to me but I felt like giving it a try. Out of my comfort zone and all that. I was pleasantly surprised. It was not overly fruity like I thought it would be. Will probably pick up again when I see it.

I cant say that i ever had the chance to taste any craft beers. I have always been a Newcastle brown man myself traditionally.
And as thats not always available, I normally drink guiness. But I wouldn't pass up the chance to try some craft beers.

I seem to remember drinking Newcastle Brown on my travels on British Rail in the 1970s - didn't the tins feature a selection of attractive ladies on them?

I hope it counts as a hobby as then it means I at least have one.

Last beer I had was a Kinnegar Black Bucket. Hadn't seen it around in a while so was glad to get my hands on a few.

The best one I’ve had is sham maths by dead centre. Devils backbone is nice too.

Just got myself a 12 days of Milk stouts box. Here is the list:

Rochester Mills Beer Co., based in Auburn Hills, unveiled this year's lineup of Milkshake Stouts on Thursday. Seven of the 12 flavors are brand new, with past favorites such as English Toffee making their return:

• Peanut Buttercup Milkshake Stout

• Imperial Milkshake Stout

• King Cake Milkshake Stout

• English Toffee Milkshake Stout

• Imperial Java (Coffee) Milkshake Stout

• Michigan Maple Milkshake Stout

• Gingerbread Cookie Milkshake Stout

• Chocolate Chip Pancake Milkshake Stout

• Imperial Triple Layer Decadence Milkshake Stout

• Red Velvet Ale

• Double Chocolate Milkshake Stout (Revised Recipe with More Chocolate)

• Salted Caramel Milkshake Stout

Haven't cracked any yet but really looking forward to some of these. 8-)

Fierce hungry after looking at the menu - https://www.beercos.com/order

Not a stout drinker but would give them twelve a good lash going by the names alone.
