Yes, my brother had one 2 days ago, my daughter has one today, if you're positive and have failed an antigen covid will be detected for weeks so keep trying until you get one

The pox descended on us on Thursday. I rang my doc yesterday to see if he could get me a PCR. Now I wait. There were 9 of us including 2 children together on Stephen's Day. Only 3 of us tested positive with antigen and one of those who didn't isn't vaccinated. Mad auld virus altogether.

Thanks TCO. It's like a head cold/sinus infection, nothing that would stop me from doing my normal things.

You have escaped?

Its not visited us. Son is a rabid antivaxer and wife is vulnerable so we don't really mix, once a week shopping and thats about it, both wife and I are fully vaxed and boosted.

I’m fully vaxxed, and boosted and had it early on - early April 2020.

Got symptoms currently that could well be Covid/Omicron - not pleasant but not the worst illness I ever had.

My father died of Covid in October 20 so I do take it seriously.

February update : still don't know whether or not I've had it, but have just finished a three week contract where about 30% of the staff tested positive (including all the non-vaccinated); one nephew+girlfriend (vacc'd) tested positive and were unwell after a visit to Dublin, preventing their return to continental Europe; elderly best-friends of my parents tested positive just after Christmas, but weren't unwell; and the two youngest in my sister's family-of-four (vacc'd) tested positive a week ago after returning to school (two different schools).

Just tested positive. Two years a hermit and one wake does for me. But I would not have missed seeing my auntie off. I have a chesty cough and sore throat. It is first day though - hopefully it will be mild.

I'm sure you will be fine - it's as widespread as the common cold at this stage. :)

I think I know more with it than without it at this stage. If anyone in the house gets it I'm not even going to bother avoiding them because it's just inevitable now and I'm not long after my 3rd shot.

Some family members have contracted it in the past 10 days or so.
Has been mild for them, thankfully.
I am on the fence whether I should deliberately expose myself to it or not at this stage, as I have not had it - YET.

Do let us know how you are doing.
Hopefully your attention to your health will see you through without much suffering.

Thank you, PureIsle. I was kind of surprised how fast the symptoms came on, thought it might creep up! But nope, very fast. Anyway, I am on the vitamins and yes, the unmentionable thing.
Many family members have it at the moment in various parts of the country. Some very mild, others are in bed for a few days, it does not matter whether young, old, fit, unfit - it seems almost like luck of draw whether they get mild or less mild - or genetics? or initial dose exposure? Don't know.
A good few people are saying they got it at the wake now, it was definitely a risky environment. I knew it was going in, but I was mad about my aunt and felt we cannot keep distance from loved ones like my poor uncle forever.

It seems to be hitting the gubberment now. Martin, Leo, McAntee all have/had it over the recent while.

I must be one of the few that haven't caught it yet. Then again, I wear the mask even walking down the street!

I'm infected with the dreaded covid zombie disease since yesterday. Weird thing is I slept like a baby last night for the first time in months!

Hope you get a mild dose, N. I slept incredibly heavily for the first few nights of Covid - and have continued to sleep a lot and well - sleep is a great healer. Mostly better now except for lingering snottiness in morning. Have started back into a light exercise program and walking daily, very light exercises compared to what I try to do most days, as I am a bit tired after it. But not as bad as a few in the family, young strong ones, vaccinated and unvaccinated, who got a big dose of it and are knackered. Keep taking vitamins and minerals, even afterwards, to build back up. I am looking into adding omega 3s, and an ordinary B vitamin tonic. It is a mild dose for some, for others its not. My mother, who had a big heart op a few years ago, has had a really mild dose thankfully. Mostly involves her giving out lingo that her socialising is curtailed!!

I've started taking vitamin D this morning, plus my usual 10 cups of coffee and cigarettes. I'm surprised covid is able to stay alive in my toxic bin of a body. 😀

I've nothing strenuous to do over the next week thankfully.

Got it early on - early April 2020, felt like death for about 10 days. C**t of a boss at the time insisted we "show a firm line" to the other teams and so although working form home he kept me working rather that being on sick leave. Never wished anyone dead before but tbh he's up there. Vile moron.

Had it again in January 2022 - 3-4 days, not feeling as bad - no breathing issues, just like a really horrible cold. New boss, told me to stay off the laptop till I was better, only missed a day of work. Totally different.

Double vaxxed and boosted - and it makes a difference.

I had weight loss surgery a few weeks back and so am on a few extra vitamins and I had a B12 shot last week - I've never slept better in my life!!!

I'd be slightly vitamin sceptical generally but I have totally seen the light!!

I drink oat straw tea if insomnia ever gets bad and then I sleep like I'm drunk 😂 wake up 10 hours later, mouth open, snoring like a horse.

I still haven't gotten it, I think! Then again, I wear a mask walking down the street (even in 30C heat in Cordoba). I've a load of antigen tests so I'll be testing myself before heading home from hols. I've been buying tests by the 20 and masks by the box. I go through two to three masks a day.....

A friend of mine got it recently. He was vaccinated and boosted. It knocked him for 6 for 10 days.
