The bad news is coming thick and fast, so it deserves its own thread to show the BS the media is pushing

The 'western diet' is incredibly unhealthy today. Full of all sorts of stuff none of us should be eating. You bloody well know this, don't you? So when ACTUAL scientists publish the results of their studies and a reputable and independent newspaper report on it, how the hell do you argue against their conclusions?

You realise that you're not actually convincing anyone of anything with this guff, don't you?

You're clearly not educated formally or practicing professionally in this field, so apart from giving it the usual "Arrrrghhhh, Media, argghhhh, Lies!, argggghhhh, You'll see that I was right about the vaccines" crap, what productive outcome are you hoping for here?

As an adult, you should be capable of critical thought. I don't see any. I mean, none.

Given that you spend most of your time consuming rather than producing, I'm going to hope you get bored eventually, because in the absence of intelligent, convincing argument, I fail to see how you'll be able to engage or retain the participation of others in these DAF discussions.

So I'll forget about you in the months ahead, when you're proven to be just another DH with an opinion, and an inability to do anything other than regurgitate what you've heard from other people.

When I was a kid my mother was diagnosed with coeliac disease(before every oddball discovered or was told by a quack with crystals they were "intolerant"). She had a very bad case of it. Like proper allergic reaction stuff. Anyway my dad thought he'd give up the gluten too because she'd be near drooling watching him tuck into buttered toast of a morning so he felt bad about that.

He had suffered with arthritis in the neck for years. He reckoned because of a fall in his youth. Fast forward a few months and he wasn't needing any painkillers and anti-inflammatories for his neck. The pain had gone and movement had returned. He went to the GP and on to the specialist, xrays were taken and lo and behold spontaneous healing of the site that had been plain in earlier xrays. The specialist basically told him keep doing whatever you're doing because it's working and he had no real explanation for it. The da was convinced it was giving the gluten(or whatever else he was eating with it, wheat etc) the heave ho. It was the only thing he changed in his life.
Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

It has been well documented over the past years that grain foods such as bread, pasta etc cause severe inflammation for some people. My sister suffered from 'arthritis' in her hands for years, sometimes to such an extent she could barely carry things.
I suggested, several years ago, she give up wheat products for a while to see if that was what was causing the inflammation.
She discovered yes it was ........ but she still on occasion has bread, cakes etc knowing full well she will have a reaction, but has decided that it is worth it for the occasional treat.

I have a suspicion that it is the quality of the ingredients that have had an impact on some.
For instance my sis reports that she got no reaction from foods she ate while on extended holiday in Italy, while she was prepared for the inflammatory reaction.

This is my working theory too although I've a feeling that heat/low humidity also helps. My morning arthritis in the hands and knees completely disappears when I spend time in France/Spain. I've tried eliminating dairy/gluten to help this (and sinusitis) at home here in Ireland but it made no difference at all. Coming to the conclusion that refined sugar is the single biggest evil on the planet.
