Pictures from the Pandemic

Post by isha »

A tiny little hobby I have adopted recently is to save images I see in the media, including on social media, relating to measures taken during the Pandemic. It's probably good to remember so one doesn't forget. Don't worry I have a fair few now ๐Ÿ˜Š

First the magical power of what we all came to know and love as "social distancing"....

Just one more addition to this collection from me today.
If you don't have a mask - and goodness knows there was a minute there at the beginning when masks, gloves and the ingredients for making your own home made hand sanitiser became as rare as publicly traded plutonium - then improvise..

Cabbage leaves were used by more than one person.

I have more strange masks but I feel especially inclined to salute this gentleman with his repurposed underpants...

Who would have thought, prior to 2020, that people would willingly go about their business wearing underpants on their face?

I like the cabbage mask ..... nibble away if you get hungry!

Oh I thought I would not add more til tomorrow but I can't resist. Justin Trudeau posted this birthday message to his wife yesterday and the virtuous masks are just the tip of the weirdness iceberg with this schitzzz.

What an absolute Wally that man is. As our dear friend ODB would have shamelessly remarked if she was still with us - instant vag dryer right there ๐Ÿ˜…

If you did not have a gigantic underpants to hand, you could always raid your girlfriend's drawers (hehe) and improvise a mask from there...

I don't have a problem with masks. In fact I was literally the only one wearing a mask in Penney's last Sunday. And I will be wearing one on a plane this week and I don't mind being the only gobshyte doing so. Mainly because I don't want another dose in on top of just clearing the last. But I think it is personal choice. Stay tuned, I have the evidence that people went wild ๐Ÿ˜…

I have only worn a mask when legally bound to.
I hate the damned things and see no benefit from them at all against any virus.

Now it is being shown that particles from the usual masks get into the lungs of wearers which might well be a health concern in the longer term.

Yeah I know there is disagreement about efficacy, and I'm not really sure myself. But I'm also uncertain about the immunity level post infection
I used to think it was pretty solid, but now I think the species is more like going through childhood again when you have a constant snotty nose while the body gets used to Corona viruses and rhinoviruses etc etc. These variants have a bit of go in them yet.
And I just don't feel like having another snotty nose right now. Anyway I will not be affecting anyone else by wearing a mask, so I probably will.

However this won't be me....

Yes, I agree, there is doubt or little solid data about the resistance-to-infection level after earlier infection.
I expect it is somewhat similar to influenza - if exposed in one season then very good resistance to the next season's variant, a sort of 'qualified immunity'.

I have no personal experiences to recount as I have not been infected that I am aware of. I have not taken any extra precautions voluntarily. Neither have I been jabbed. I have never taken a 'flu' jab either.

I never feared getting flu and I do not fear getting a Sars-2 infection.

I never got a flu jab, never ever thought about flu, bar the one time I had it, never will get a flu jab or covid shot, and it is not that I ''fear'' Covid. It is just that it was not nothing of a dose either and I don't want to have it quickly again in on top of my last dose. It was actually the tiredness that was most unpleasant - I did not like it. Basically I am not a huge fan of diseases generally

Some people seem to have some kind of resistance to Covid - my husband did not get it while I had it in the house, and I was far from asymptomatic. My daughter's partner has not gotten it while she has been busy snotting all over the place the last two weeks in their small apartment. My sister did not get it from my mother - none of them did any major social distancing.

Anyway I will go to me phone and get a few more photos for the archives! Stand by...

The great outdoors became a place of which to be suspicious - do you remember how cross people got about joggers passing them by during their 5k lockdown walks. All that poison breath.
This guy is taking no chances. Sitting in chemicals is safer than the danger of particulates...

I don't have any amusing pictures however at the start of the pandemic I was gathering supplies such as ffp masks and also bought filters for my Sundstrom respirator as in the below pic. I was planning to wear it while shopping if things got really bad which they never did in my judgement.

This was months before our "experts" recommended any mask wearing, the likes of Martin Cormican (Cormican the Cabbage) were actively discouraging wearing, then flipped.

Aside from photos, we shouldn't forget the lunacy, particularly around surface transmission. People putting objects in microwaves, spraying the outside of their cars with alcohol sanitiser lest someone had touched it in the supermarket car park.

Oho don't you worry, me boyo, I have a full on gas and particulate respirator in me cupboard, acquired near the start of all this. Never used.
Plus a UV light sanitiser! Used in the early days when I did not know wtf this was.
See, in spite of what many might think, because I argue against fast-tracked trial genetic products and especially any and all coercion when it comes to things being injected into the body, I was a big Zero Covid fan at the very beginning.
I wanted the bugger stamped out right from the get go. Lock down, no one move for a month, anywhere and do not let this thing replicate. But globalism and short term economics put paid to that dream.
An extra burden of morbidity on a species from a novel pathogen is always a retrograde step as an evolutionary happening, in my opinion. Look at countries where there are endemic diseases like say malaria or parasitic infestations - they always suffer long term from loss of productivity, creativity, etc simply because too many people are knackered from repeated infections. It may be in 20 years time we will look back and say Oooooops at our idiocy in funding gain of function research on pathogens, and then letting them off when they escape. But anyways...

Now I will have to go look for a few pictures to restore balance to the world :geek:

The extraordinary power of perspex was truly revealed during this pandemic. There must be many who will tell their grandchildren how they earned their massive fortune supplying cut lengths of fabricated acrylic sheeting.
