They can't afford to bring em back,so the establishment and PC brigade will just want the old and sick to die off instead

Re: Covid restrictions coming back ...
I think it is possible there will be some kind of restrictions.
The present covid is highly infectious. I'm hearing of loads of people getting it, people being discharged early after serious operations to avoid it, whole teams having Covid in some places I deal with. I was in a supermarket a day ago and the lady at the till told me that because there's no sick pay and because if you are positive for covid you are not supposed to come in, then people are not testing themselves and a "bad cold" is running rife through the place.
Pay people to be able to mind themselves properly, how bout that?
Personally I think we can't avoid it. It'll have to run through. This is life now.
I'm just over covid. It's a pain in the hole that immunity is not great. If even one week of every year has to be given to this it's 2-3% of your availability for work (for those lucky enough to have sick pay which I don't!) And so it's a morbidity burden on the species, health wise, economy wise, etc.
But that's what we are left with because of gain of function research funded by the US.
I still would never take one of their gene therapy shots. But as I've said all along I'm pissed off that we have this feck of a disease in the world now because even if YOU get an easy go of it, some don't, and even a moderate go of it is a bloody pain in the hole and a waste of a week or two.

Not wrong unfortunately.RogerMoore wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 7:17 pm Bookmark this ... and let's look back in October-December ... I do really hope I'm wrong ..
All preparations are in place including new jab substances produced that are of course "safe and effective".
Similar happening in Ireland. Several Hospitals have reintroduced mandated masking ... so dig out those pieces of cloth you thought to use as dust cloths as you will need them soon.
A not-so-merry go round!

Only missing the spectre of King Tony to complete the nostalgia trip, "we're all in this together". His greatest hits: Jobs & businesses lost, teens baton charged & the elderly imprisoned in their own homes, cancer diagnoses missed & mental health issues spiralled. Still awaiting the statutory inquiry into his mishandling of nursing homes during early throes of pandemic, questions also linger about his role in the cervical check scandal. Pride anticipates the fall, especially when one is embroiled in scandal after scandal where lives were needlessly lost.

I can't see them doing lockdowns again - it literally forked the economy.
I can see them bringing back low level annoyances though, like poxy masks everywhere.
If I'm wrong I'll admit it and start believing there's some sort of conspiracy

Re: Covid restrictions coming back ...
I'm just getting over it, it's a crappy dose but I'll be fine.
There will be restrictions in hospitals because they struggle every winter and Covid thrown in makes it even worse. I can't see restrictions coming back outside of healthcare.
The original virus and sub-variants was harder to catch but was more harmful that any current ones. I knew one individual who died from it, around 70 years old. who was otherwise healthy.

My mother also has covid as COD - but she had dementia and late stage ovarian cancer.PlaneSpeeking wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 9:55 am Yeah right. If you're delusional and he feeds that delusion then work away.

She didn't die of Covid and it sickens me that she was used as a statistic to fearmonger and lock people down ...
Something like 180 people died in Ireland of Covid alone. [https://www.irishtimes.com/health/2022/ ... eland-cso/]
Vast majority died of something else and tested + for covid in the last month.
If AJ said that to the parents (don't think he did actually) that has nothing to do with this.
Judge this on what he refers to here ALONE.
And already some hospitals, movie sets and universities in the US are bringing back restrictions, so he's right so far.
Re: Covid restrictions coming back ...
Your information about movies sets is bullshit. Where do you get that info from?RogerMoore wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 11:29 am My mother also has covid as COD - but she had dementia and late stage ovarian cancer.

Re: Covid restrictions coming back ...
I suppose one could discuss the possibilities re future and ongoing response that is likely to happen to Covid WITHOUT reference to that guy who looks like he's going to keel over from a coronary every time he speaks?
Can we???
I think... could be wrong... that there's going to be an uptick over next couple of months in covid news and scare stories that will have many glad to return to restrictions of some sort. I would be interested in keeping tabs on that operation - the last one was a militarised campaign using specialised intelligence units eg in the UK. That's admitted. And fascinating if it's tried again.
Lockdown is unfeasible. It's too obvious how much damage they did. Masks are likely. Funny enough my husband went to doc here post covid to get a check up and the doc told him to take off his mask, as they are useless. It was a proper ffp2 mask which he was wearing to be polite as he had the dreg ends of covid on him still.
Other restrictions possible. Plus increased vaccine push. I will be interested to see if this happens.

In reality it's the establishment here are covering up covid deaths to keep the PC brigade happy and avoid lockdowns.....our health service is in last few months in/brink of collaspe and entirety of the media pretends this is normal for a countryRogerMoore wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 11:29 am My mother also has covid as COD - but she had dementia and late stage ovarian cancer.

Re: Covid restrictions coming back ...
The the term " bringing back " threw me a bit, because the film production company that a family member works for, has never relaxed any of the covid safety conventions in place , since they were introduced. they have had a vigilant approach to making sure that none of the film celebrities catch anything from the minions that work with them.
