Getting Paid
Getting Paid
During a 10 day isolation period for failing a PCR, where do you go or what do you do to make up some of your wages? Regular social welfare same as a normal time off sick? I know the PUP is gone but I assume that was only for people laid off long term.

This link has the details and also a button to click to apply. Its 350 per week for 2 weeks. You need to have certification of positive test, you may be able to get that digitally, then give them your details and bank account details.

Re: Getting Paid
Actually the payment will extend to up to 10 weeks if you are sick. Just to clarify that.
Online applications are better, usually efficient. Recently I had to phone local social welfare office to ask a question. But SW have changed to a central national number. Nobody answers the phone. At all. You could hold for a lifetime.

Re: Getting Paid
Thanks for that. Hopefully be back in after the 10 days isolation, best case. Do you wait until you're back in work before applying for it?
Re: Getting Paid
No, apply immediately. It will be back dated to date of positive test, but apply now.

Re: Getting Paid
Not too bad. If I manage to see next week then I’ll be glad I sorted this out at least.
