From the videos I'm seeing on Twitter.

Is it a brief convulsion following the shooting of 17 years old Nahel M, or is it long tensions coming to the surface.

It doesn't look great to be honest.

Having enjoyed his Elton John concert Macron is now holding crisis/emergency meetings.
667 arrested. Many cities have had shops and municipal buildings looted and set on fire. Protestors seem to be accessing lethal weapons.

Maybe it's not as bad as the videos depict?

Imho I think certain elements in society just need any old excuse to vent their frustrations into open violence. RIP to the young lad though.
