Charlie McConalogue, the agriculture minister, said up to 200,000 Ukrainians could come to Ireland as a result of the Russian invasion, which would make them Ireland’s largest foreign community.

Varadkar also said 40,000 Ukrainians would probably arrive in Ireland by the end of next month, that raised the question where are we going to house them?

So add another 200k on top of the 90k this year, that will work out fine.

I'm guessing we will see a anti immigration party become very popular, 290k immigrants on top of a current housing crisis, that will end well.

Now to our neighbors in the UK
Mr Gove stressed there will be 'money available for local authorities' to help support new arrivals. 'There will be just over £10,000 per individual available to local authorities,' he said.
'Then there will be additional payments for those children who are of school age and who need to be accommodated within the educational system.'

We will just do a straight £ to € conversion, so Gove said £10,000 per refugee in cost and more for children attending school (£2k a child?)
So little Ireland takes 200k at €10k per person thats €2BILLIOIN excluding the school cost!!!!!

I've heard this figure mentioned as well and it's off the scale and a recipe for all sorts of problems. It's already impossible for many living here to find a home and now this. I have to laugh/cry when I hear of thousands being accommodated in Kerry hotels at the same time as Failte Eireann are trying to relaunch the tourist industry.....not to mention Mary Lou trying to start a new Civil War with all her border poll nonsense.
