The SNP were very angry. The speaker (Hoyle) broke from convention by allowing a labour proposal to be voted on before the SNP one. It was an opposition day debate (of which the SNP only get 3- labour get 17)and it was the SNP’s turn to table an issue that was important to them. This then got usurped by the labour and government amendments.

Hoyle said he did it because labour MP’s complained about their safety from the electorate if a ceasefire motion didn’t get tabled.

Who is threatening the safety of labour MP’s? Their agenda seems to be to get a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Times reported that three female politicians, including representatives of the Conservative and Labour parties, have been given taxpayer-funded bodyguards and cars.

The newspaper reported that the three MPs, who have not been named, had their security upgraded after a risk assessment was carried out with support from the Ravec committee, which is responsible for the security of the royal family and senior politicians.

It comes as the Palestine Solidarity Campaign defended the right to lobby MPs “in large numbers”, amid reports the group wanted so many protesters to turn up that Parliament would “have to lock the doors”.

The group said the issue of MPs’ security was “serious” but should not be used to “shield MPs from democratic accountability”.

Palestine Solidarity Campaign director Ben Jamal said thousands of people were “shamefully” denied entry into Parliament on Wednesday as they attempted to lobby MPs to vote in favour of a ceasefire in Gaza.

A phrase I heard over yonder for years was “no free speech without consequences” (accountability in this case) and these people mean what they say.

Ah, but they're going to build on State-owned land, so, no affordable housing for the natives again. McEntee reckons that by signing up to the EU pact on migration we'll be able to speed up the process of deportation but I thought the deportation procedure had to go through the courts, which are notorious for being snail-like. Surely it's not possible that a Government Minister could be spinning us a yarn

Those few journalists we have, who are worthy of the name, are often constrained by who they work for, big business interests that move in the same circles as the political elite. Those who will ask the hard questions are often ignored, as was demonstrated by the treatment of the journalist from Gript Media, at the Press conference a few weeks ago.
I'd love to have someone like Ian Hislop in the media here, a thorn in the side of the British establishment.

Seven males hidden in trailer at Rosslare Europort

Six men and one male juvenile discovered hidden in a truck trailer at Rosslare Europort around 6am this morning (Friday) was detained by Gardaí for alleged immigration offences.

They received medical attention at Wexford Garda Station and all were deemed to be safe and well.

The six men were refused leave to land and are now expected to leave the jurisdiction tonight on a return ferry to the country they arrived from.

The juvenile is currently in the care of Tusla’s Unaccompanied Minors Unit.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing alongside the relevant international stakeholders.

Last January 14 people-nine men, three women and two young girls- were discovered hidden in a refrigerated trailer at Rosslare Europort and arrested for alleged immigration offences.

They were later released, and a man was arrested later in connection to a human trafficking investigation. He was later released.


And where can one see proof that the first mentioned group were in fact deported? And, why were the group that subsequently disappeared after being sent to Dublin not deported. Questions we will never hear a proper answer to.

Report on RTE lunchtime news about the migrant camp on Mount St and these fcukers pissing and shitting on the streets. WTF is going on in our country? One guy said he was from Somalia and arrived in Mount St a couple of days ago. Arrived from where? As far as I know, Ireland has no links to Somalia. Another was from Myanmar, on the other side of the globe, FFS, and what is he doing wandering the streets of our capital city, where is he getting money to sustain himself?
Something has to be done about this situation, the Government has lots of land around the Curragh; build a detention centre and hold these people in it. I don't give a toss about the optics or the woke luvvies calling it a concentration camp, the first duty of the government is to protect the law abiding citizens of this country and having hundreds of undocumented male aliens running loose on our streets, is not doing that.

Another "migrant" this time from Romania, so technically entitled to come here, kicked off in a dole office because he had gone back to Romania for a three month holiday and then was mightily pissed because his dole money wasn't backdated. Probably a member of their version of Kenny's ethnic minority, with the same attitude towards social and personal responsibility.
