She starts talking about how people should have trust in democracy, well if they don’t there’s something wrong. Trust isn’t the problem, it’s the symptom. Trust is the solution to the problem, but they won’t get this by tackling “misinformation”.

A metaphor I heard recently went, if you cheat on your husband/wife you lose their trust. Trust isn’t the issue, cheating on your spouse was.
You don’t fix this fractured relationship by blaming your spouse because she/he no longer trusts you, you work to prove and earn their trust again.

Really good way of looking at it. We are being "blamed" for not trusting. It's weird.
Thinking out loud, and trying to be occasionally less wrong...

Too trust or not to trust would infer that you have a choice.
In this case there will be no choice, its either believe the narrative, or face penalties. Where is the choice, its constructive coercion that at the moment is an offence

Notice the phrase
The Irish government's new anti-misinformation force, the Electoral Commission, says it has "very extensive powers" to "require the correction or removal of information we believe to be incorrect" - all in an effort to "enhance democracy." Question by @Ben_Scallan
It states incorrect and believe in that sentence.

So what is the definition of incorrect?
Does it just mean false or not factual information or does it mean information that does not fit what they believe to be correct.

If the electoral commission chose to believe the earth to be flat and that to be the correct belief, does it deem anyone who states actual facts can have those facts removed?

Yeah I know it is taking this to farcical levels, but has anyone seen how farcical some of the shyte being pedaled lately by the supposed leaders in our society.

The person that will be advising them is AI, thats what its for , so that each successive government will be singing the same old tune, and you will be told that you live in a democratic society Its to assess the narrative of the global population, in accordance with the elites wishes and their bottom line. And it will constantly maintain that.
If you were stupid enough to believe that AI is for the benefit of mankind, you need to go back to school for more indoctrination, as its starting to wear off

I remember there used to be a thread about twitter but now I can’t find it, only the one in the tech forum(which I posted in as the wrong thread). Anyway here’s gript interviewing Elon Musk about irelands’s potential hate speech laws.

Tell me people are not falling for this FF graft.
They're all jumping on the bandwagon now.

Leo said in his resignation speech that he hopes for another coalition government including the greens in the future. O’Dea seems to be breaking ranks and anyone opposed to the hate speech laws is a welcome addition.

It's political graft, following trends to get a advantage.
The same as they followed the trend of 'progressive' politics.
FF had years to oppose all this nonsense yet its only now they're standing up.

Why?
The failed referendum, rise of national parties, the cozy opposition losing inthe polls, the fact that the people are waking up - to name a few reasons.

Also, Groucho O'Dea is an idiot. He couldn't keep his mouth shut and got himself in a defamation case with a shinner.
Looks like a clown, acts like a clown.
