As far as I can make out they are prosthesis so he probably takes them off when not wearing them in public. Probably wears kitten heels anyway, so laces are not a big deal. I'd say the circular saw is a bigger risk.

But to be honest it's the kids I feel sorry for. Every day looking at that stupidity. ,🙄

What a hypocrite who shutdown protest in his own country, even attacked their way of fundraising.

A cursory glance seems to be a one time thing? Fair play to her for not putting up with that shit. A few quotes from him about a hostile takeover, maybe he’s gone a little mad?

I was just reading an article about Creeslough in The Guardian when I saw the following at the end of the page. Are these people not democratic? France. Sweden. For fuxxake, to be calling whole populations of advanced, secular, western, democratic countries "far right" is just so weird.
From Italy to Sweden, Hungary to France, the far right is once again a force to be reckoned with. Its hostility towards immigrants encourages xenophobes everywhere, including in Ireland. Its social conservatism threatens hard-won LGBTQ+ rights. Its euroscepticism has already upset the dynamics of the EU.

The normalisation of far right rhetoric has gone far enough. For decades, Guardian journalism has challenged populists like this, and the divisions that they sow. Fiercely independent, we are able to confront without holding back because of the interests of shareholders or a billionaire owner. Our journalism is always free from commercial or political influence. Reporting like this is vital for democracy, for fairness and to demand better from the powerful.

And we provide all this for free, for everyone to read. We do this because we believe in information equality. Greater numbers of people can keep track of the events shaping our world, understand their impact on people and communities, and become inspired to take meaningful action. Millions can benefit from open access to quality, truthful news, regardless of their ability to pay for it.

Every contribution, however big or small, powers our journalism and sustains our future

The fcuk is this judge on?

https://www.independent.ie/news/judge-t ... 56670.html

Bail was previously refused after a police officer said Feeney was “considered dangerous to females”. “He has 67 previous offences, some of which are domestic in nature. He is managed by a specialist unit as a violent offender,” they added.

The court was told eight women, including his mother and grandmother, had taken non-molestation orders against Feeney. He also has convictions for assaults and breaches of court orders, with the majority of his offending occurring while intoxicated. Judge Sherrard said this marked him “as a belligerent, drunken thug, a bully and a nuisance”.
After finding this horrible person guilty of sexual assault against a woman he met online, the judge says it's not too late for him to get a wife or partner...
“You are still a young man. There’s nothing that will stop you moving on with your life in a more productive way, finding work or finding a wife or partner, getting a family and a home.
Does the judge have any particular poor woman in mind for this violent transgressive lowlife? The judges own sister or daughter, or grand daughter maybe? Bloody raving gobshyte. :x

Unbelievable carry-on by the Judge but as none of them are ever brought to book for releasing dangerous thugs back into society what can you expect.

Interesting that a female judge yesterday increased the sentencing of a dangerous thug by another six years:

https://www.rte.ie/news/courts/2022/101 ... ski-trial/

Why can't we have consistent and realistic sentencing for all rape crimes? Or at least always have female judges arbitrate ;)

In fairness being female is no guarantee of sound mind, even for a judge. But seriously, "get a woman of yer own and ya will be grand" is a very dubious response to a violent sex pest.

The more I hear about the likes of this the more I believe that the ordinary Irish person is persecuted and treated worse in their lives than any criminal is ever treated by our governments. I know if any of my family members were the victim of this sort of crime, I would definitely resort to self help, the bog, and a box of number 4's for the offender.

PayPal Terminates Hong Kong Account of one of the last remaining pro democracy groups in Hong Kong. This comes on the heels of paypal also introducing a new policy that would have fined its users for ‘misinformation’. This policy was quickly removed after a number of users deleted their accounts, PayPal actually bribed people with $15 not to delete their accounts.

This is the power they will have when all the money is digital.

The Waukesha parade killer who drove his suv through dozens of people represents himself in court.

He killed people with his car after declaring his hate for white people and Jews on social media. Imagine the race of the killers and the victims were switched and his would be the most watched court case ever imo.

Nothing from RTE, BBC, CNN, MSNBC, why is it only right wing media cover some stories? Or maybe better phrased as why do left wing media ignore some stories?

This is a story the left wing media initially tried to lie about by implying he was being chased by police and this somehow caused him to do what he did, which turned out to be utter tripe.
Brooks was involved in a domestic disturbance earlier Sunday and left the scene just prior to driving his SUV through the parade, the police chief said.
Officers tried to top Brooks as he approached the parade in his SUV, but Brooks allegedly drove through barricades.

Undergraduates at Cambridge university who are learning German are urged to avoid gendered language. 👀

I don't think this is a parody.

I'm still not sure if this is a pisstake or not.

Even I know that some languages have male and female nouns for everyday items and English is the outlier in not having male/female nouns.......

Typical US crap trying to be imposed on the world when it clearly doesn't fit.

That is nuts. What reason would they have to bring in such a policy ? I can't comprehend that. Who will they get this information from and who will decide what constitutes disinformation ?

They previously said it was an error and now there it is again in their terms and policies. It’s the first reply in that tweet- gives a link to their policies. I suppose like Facebook they’ll have to set up their own authority of truth or civic integrity team, which later disbanded.

This article might go some way to explaining things; the midterms are coming up. Don’t want election deniers or trans deniers spreading harmful misinformation and hate! https://www.axios.com/2022/10/26/midter ... -elections

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents ... -demands-1 Link here of the letter from activist groups demanding this sort of thing.

We might all getting a slash hook for Christmas to go out and destroy the jungle that will be invading our gardens. No wall is high enough. This is especially true if you have a well established kiwi plant coming over your wall. They are more vigorous than our own native ivy... plus the fruit is crap from it due to our less than sunny weather. Chief gardener Josip Borrell explains.
