Ah sure €18,611 per bicycle parking space is reasonable!

Are there 18 members regularly using a bicyle for their daily commute? :D :D

A special cantilevered roof to protect the bikes from northerly winds.
Sam old bollixing going on there in the media then. The least amount of wind blowing over ireland come from a northerly direction.
As for the special cantilevered roof over a bike shed . FFS i drew the cantilevered roof sections over Baldonnell aerodrome for presentation in a few hours on Strucad 24 years ago.
I cant believe we fall for the same old bullshit from the government through the media.
If we do, then its no wonder we are the down hill slope.

So this is only a small part of “ongoing works” at Leinster house, I’d like to see the bill in its totality. Is that available somewhere? A proper news organization would expand upon this point as well as the “existing facilities are underused”.

Well from an objective point of view, the dail is underused. If it were a private business it would be liquidated many years ago. Its not as productive as it should be, and the fact that there is zero accountability is unheard of.In the real world if you missed the target at work then you would be reprimanded. If you fecked up so much on a financial aspect , then you would be gone. Government ministers are surely a privelaged class of citizens

The dail is working entirely as Intended, funneling public money to the establishment to enrich them

These aren't mistakes or over runs,at some stage people will realise, this is an active decision to fleece the taxpayer.....who have been so beaten down by decades of robbery and corruption are resigned to acceptance of it,but it deosnt have to be this way,we just need someone to speak out for the silent majority

I read about that bicycle shelter on RTE and in spite of the OPW's lame response to try to explain it, I thought it sounded extremely expensive.

Then when I saw the photo of it in the Irish Indo - holy fcuk, it's even worse than that.

IME such debacles are usually due to sloppiness, apathy, naivety and ignorance on the part of public bodies and their staff - as opposed to corruption and seeking to enrich private sector buddies.

Suppliers will know that anything associated with a protected structure and/or anything related to any trendy "green" initiatives = a licence to gouge the taxpayer. Eamon Ryan can express as much surprise as he wants about this, him and his party are part of the problem.

It does look different for sure with no grass or trees on one. Not to mention a different amount of columns and cantilever beams.

Ministers would want to watch out some evening when they come out for their bikes, should you could get a dozen tents in there.

It's somewhat amusing that a rare breed of sock puppet refuses to condemn egregious misuse of public money, "they" are more concerned with dimensions of excrement after a tray of pints. Such is the pitiful regression of mature discourse, blind devotion to FG nullifies tactful engagement. All that remains are cheap ad hominem attacks, the last refuge of an incoherent scoundrel bereft of any imagination.

Those chaps live rent free inside your head, Bertie, and they’ve just decided to hold a messy house party as well.

Move on and don’t let them bother you. I’m not one of them btw, but I do admire their work in continuously winding up halfwits, morons, and the permanently outraged.

Thankfully our glorious leaders have put all our economic eggs in the basket of forgien mega corporation's,which are quite clearly teetering on collaspe and left the domestic economy rot for years.....

.the left wont like this, but this will end terribly for ordinary people who will be,as ususal, forced to carry the can for the mess they inflict on ordinary people, but they get their endless money, while children go hungry and poverty addled here.... quite why they try to silence people speaking about their attacks on society here, tells a story of its own

And Bertie lives rent free inside your head based on all of your 14 posts here so far. At least he’s commenting on the topic of the thread, which yet again you have failed to do.

There is nothing inaccurate about what is being said....the set of conditions the establishment have set down, will only inevitable lead to devastation for the ordinary people here......they have simply refused to develop a domestic economy, and thrown all eggs in basket of mega corporation's (to extent they wanted to cpo private property for mega corporation's,and actively eeked out a housing disaster to enrich mega corporation's)....they've built a society ravaged by corruption and actively seek to worsen communities to break spirit of them to enable them to impose their rule unopposed.....now,more than ever we need good people to speak out for the silent majority here

The left simply dispise the ordinary people here, and have washed themselves into a corner where even reasonable suggestions that isn't designed to enrich the establishment or mega corporation's results in them shouting national party (I still lol over this) at anyone who deosnt tow their agenda

Ravaged by corruption! Some of you lads need to leave the house more, maybe even do a bit of travel. A load of middle-aged cranks who don’t know how good they and we have it. You are the 1%. You will live longer, eat better food, get better healthcare, and have more social protections than almost everyone who has ever lived. It’s a life spent being outraged on the internet that has made some of you so deeply unhappy.

Noone wants the economy to tank.....but it will, and as per usual, it'll be ordinary people thrown to the scrapheap because the establishment here is fecking useless and has failed utterly to develop a Domestic economy....too busy lining their pockets and working for mega corporation's,rather than look after the people of the country.....no other country is expected to put up with a government enactinga a social diaster against it's citizens

Thousands and thousands lose jobs at bord na mona....while we import peat into the country....someone somewhere in the establishment is pocketing a fortune and using media, and egging likes of yourself,to label any critism as far right/national party

Lad,I've lived and worked in countries I didn't know existed before arriving there......I know what corruption is when I see it....no amount of leftish tears and wanting people speaking out silenced will paper over, every day of week i pass roadworks, done by private contractor, whose owners are fleecing the state.....I see in my own job,any work to corporation is charged at multiple times the ordinary cost, while the left piss away money to establishment like drunken sailers, hundreds of thousands kids are left in poverty and deprivation......

It's long since time, someone spoke out for ordinary people here, who are forced into poverty with inflation, without being screamed at to shut up,put up, and be quiet,by the establishment who dispises the ordinary people here

You talk about failure to develop a Domestic economy. So in your mind what does a Domestic economy look like
