No Longer 'just a private company'?

The white house has just admitted to flagging posts for Facebook which they deem misinformation. Their reason for doing so is the low uptake of the vaccine by the population.
Even if true I'm not sure I would agree with their methods. By censoring the discussion they only enforce some people's distorted beliefs and it doesn't allow for their views to be challenged.
The surgeon general admits in this piece that "What's important to point out is that much of the misinformation that is circulating online is often coming from individuals that don't have bad intentions".
How else can you change the mind of someone to take a vaccine, without rigorously debating them, which involves them first voicing their opinion?
The argument, "well it's a private company they can do what they like" seems to evaporated with this stunning admission from Jen Psaki.
