Manslaughter should be a real possibility given just how much negligence is alleged by the lawyers. He didn’t even need a replica gun, they weren’t even shooting a scene. Industry standards called for a screen whenever a gun is pointed at crew, they call for Baldwin to check the gun, which he didn’t do and they call for him to practice the cross draw which he performed, but never practised.

It's a civil case. 'Jail time' is not a possibility unless they bring criminal charges against him but after 4 months, that's not looking likely. I'd imagine he wouldn't be the one facing criminal charges anyway, if there were some to be brought.

I think civil case is more apt for the compensation-money that can be payable to the cinematographer's kids. More useful to the offspring whichever way you look at it

An update in the much discussed talking point about whether the gun could misfire or not, the fbi has ruled it couldn’t have and Baldwin definitely pulled the trigger, contrary to his claim that he didn’t.

“However, a newly completed forensics investigation by the FBI says the weapon in question could not have been fired without the trigger being physically pulled.“

Both Baldwin and the armourer are being charged with manslaughter in relation in Halyna Hutchins’ death.

Whatever about Alec Baldwin the armourer surely has a lot of questions to answer. How on earth would live ammunition be on a movie set and in a gun to be used in the production?

Ridiculous decision regarding Baldwin. How in God's name can he be in any way responsible

Nothing to do with the topic but how the hell do some posts on this page date from February 2022, when the ones before them date from October 2022?

The correct answer is
b) Lord Kitchener

I would have also accepted:
1. 'Living in the Sunlight' by Maurice Chevalier
2. The Jack Russell Terrier

I'm assuming he's being charged not as the person firing the gun, but rather as a producer with some shared responsibility for the safety/staff qualifications etc on set?

Just not entirely sure what he could have done differently when he trusted a professional to hand him a gun with blanks in it. Should he have hired a private investigator to dig around in the armourer's past? Should he have gained a qualification himself to double check the gun? etc etc.

I think it’s a bit of both. The other director(David halls) accepted a lower charge but Baldwin was the one who pulled the trigger despite lying about doing so. He also lied about Halyna, saying both that she was his friend and he had just met her.

His last words to Halyna were, “can you see that? Can you see that? Can you see that?” Bang. I think an investigation is warranted based on the lies we’ve heard him tell.

“She takes his monitor and turns it towards her, she says to me 'hold the gun lower', 'go to your right', 'ok right there', 'ok do that', 'no show it a little bit lower' and she's getting me to position the gun. Everything is at her direction. I draw the gun out and find the mark, I draw the gun out and I (something) cock, this is a completely incidental shot, a shot that might not have made it into the film at all".

The NRA (national rifle association) has an annual budget of about $250 million of which they spend about $3million on advocacy(https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-35261394) The rest is spent promoting a culture of safety through proper procedure and proper ways of doing things.

Baldwin was one of the biggest advocates for destroying the NRA even creating his own organization, the NoRA(https://www.theguardian.com/culture/201 ... nora-group). Had he or the amourer, Reed, received training by the NRA you can bet this would never have happened.
