Re: General Current Affairs Chat - Global and Local

Re: General Current Affairs Chat - Global and Local
ye heard about that political song that went viral in the US? Tapped into an anger that seems to be widespread.
What is odd about it is the reaction from the media. Ive listend to the lyrics a few times carefully and cant finger it as far right. Maybe I`m the problem

I've listened to that song - he's right that the "right wing" love it, the left are too busy caring how he identifies and whether they can get graphic porn into school libraries in the guide of EDI.
Not my cuppa tbh musically but he cares about people, now wonder the Grauniad hate it. That rag stopped being linked to journalism the day that misogynistic rat Owen Jones blagged a job, bullied the female staff and got the great Suzanne Moore fired. Excellent article from her here:

I've just read the lyrics - it's not "fat-phobic" - as that (like non-binary) is NOT A REAL THING!!Beatty wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 1:26 pm ye heard about that political song that went viral in the US? Tapped into an anger that seems to be widespread.

Yeah if you are "300 lb and five feet 3" it is your own damn fault, and I was once 312lb and five feet one!!! I would die before I declared myself disabled just for being fat, good on him!!

Re: General Current Affairs Chat - Global and Local
Yeah, I'm happy to be home alone which happens from time to time, sometimes for extended periods. Very remote area. Usually I never have a second thought about it. In fact , I love it. But the very odd time I'd wake up hearing noises and the mind would go to the worst worry. Such a horrible thing to happen her.PlaneSpeeking wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 12:30 pm Christ, as a woman your mind goes to where that could have gone and it is fcking chilling.

I'm bored outta me hoop in work so I'm following this on Twitter. Two kids rescued so far, there is another cable thirty feet above the cable car which is making access via helicopter difficult. They are trying to figure out a way to get people out before it turns dark, they've been in there for thirteen hours now.isha wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 1:04 pm Jesus Christ another nightmare scenario. I know I keep returning to this story of the Cork iron man but the first hand accounts are just mad. It was not sanctioned. Loads of people in the water were screaming and crying and in shock. It's just crazy that it went ahead.

It is amazing, this is a song that only a few years ago would have been considered left wing, and for the people.PlaneSpeeking wrote: ↑Mon Aug 21, 2023 1:35 pm I've listened to that song - he's right that the "right wing" love it, the left are too busy caring how he identifies and whether they can get graphic porn into school libraries in the guide of EDI.
