Two shout out at me and make me wonder how many other really crap daft songs were hits in the 80's

And almost worse and no comment on this thread..

Knocked Two Tribes off the top of the charts in Ireland. Only for Two Tribes to get revenge the following week.
The single version still hasn't made it to CD / digital.

The ideal thread for this slab of doom-laden synth pop. If this was by anybody else other than two uncool footballers, it wouldn't have been dismissed. One of my favourites of the decade.

They had a minor hit with You Don't Know, which reached 39 in the Top 40. I think if it at least reaches the Top 40 it counts as a hit.

Not a One Hit Wonder I'm afraid. Altogether, Blancmange had seven Top 40 hits in the UK. Two of the others (Blind Vision and Don't Tell Me) made the Top 10, just like Living on the Ceiling.

Not bad but 1974 was the year the music died.

Why? What's special about 1974?

That last one put me in mind of this other space single that made it to No.1. in the 1980s. As a fan of the original Star Trek I also like this effort.

Correct. My definition of a one hit wonder is someone who only hit the UK top 40 once.

Glad to say that I missed the music of the '80s and 90's in a haze of alcohol and trainspotting - actual trains!
