Hopefully it'll be a good games for Ireland with a few medals...Katie Harrington and adeleke are probably favourites for us?

Ireland finish with 7 medels, very unlucky to not have 3 more.....a fairly respectable showing I feel

Hopefully they can continue this trajectory and potentially capture a dozen or so at next games

Might save the health care system even more money in years to come. The amount of obese people in Ireland these days is staggering compared to some other countries.

Sport is good for building character, fitness and skill and some top neurologists believe complex movements are what formed the pathways in our brain needed for sophisticated tasks such as emotion and reasoning.

When I was young there were plenty of sports pitches and places to play but we always lacked equipment and coaches/supervisors. Not sure how much things have changed since.
