For the last few years now, many States in the USA have legalised or decriminalised "the devil's lettuce".
It's neighbour to the north (Canada), has fully legalised it and some Latin American countries have decriminalised it also.
Now, Europe is also making moves towards legalising weed, with Germany, Malta and Luxembourg planning on doing it soon.
Do you think Ireland should change it's laws on the possession of cannabis, like other countries have? Why or why not?

I think it should be legalised. I honestly don't think it will lead to increased public health issues or act as a 'gateway drug'. We spend huge resources policing it when it could be a net tax contributor to the economy. In health terms it's no more harmful than alcohol and in social terms probably less harmful.
