GUBU.ie was established in 2021 as a discussion forum for those who wish to discuss and debate current affairs, politics and other burning issues of the day.
The idea was that there are people out there who are (a) interested in having such discussions and (b) capable of doing so without being a dick. Posters who ideally have a wide range of different opinions, and can express them reasonably and disagree agreeably.
So, if you are interested in engaging in good faith, civilised and reasonable discussion please register, join in and add to the conversation. We have few rules, other than don't be a dick. You can interpret that as stick to basic good manners and courtesy, and discuss things in a similiar manner as you would at a party or down the pub, or any situation in real life. If you cross a line, you'll be barred.
If you're simply looking to mouth off and rant at people who disagree with you, then you won't last long.
Also it's not really a site with lots of chat about hobbies and weather etc - it has a definite news, current affairs and politics bent. If you're looking for chat about where to get spare parts for a Toyota or which campsite in France you should go to, then there are many other sites that will serve you better.
