Watched a few minutes of it last night, a few of the girls were having a discussion around someone saying I love you and if it was genuine. All the girls were dressed up like they were going clubbing, all gorgeous with prefect figures and hair etc. Not very diverse is it? No normal people. I could only listen to it for so long, it just seems like the most boring thing to watch. I did watch big brother back in its heyday and I've seen comparisons made i.e if you watched BB you can't slag off LI but its apples and pears. The people on BB were diverse ages, looks, backgrounds. Sex and coupling up wasn't the agenda and some of the best people to come out of that show were the ones with interesting stories to tell. LI just seems to be churning out fodder for Only Fans.

Its an interesting exhibition of differing arguing styles, should be made required watching for marriage (Gubu too..).

Do you get offended and go after someone to make them hurt as much as you? Do you explain yourself and stand up for yourself with points when someone comes at you? Do you hide behind your partner when theyre in meltdown mode? Do you calmly listen to ranting person, trying not to match their points and just let them blow themselves out then calmly give one idea at the end.

Interesting

Love Island is another example of societys slide into oblivion. Anyone that watches it needs to take a long hard look at themselves. The world is rampant with young men and women with severe body issues yet millions of people tune in and watch this disgusting, exploitative bullshit every night. It does serve a purpose in that it makes fecking idiots easy to identify by admitting they watch it.

Its modern entertainment. Reality TV has been the norm for the last 20 years.

Any other examples of societies slide into oblivion ? Smart phones ? Microwaves?

You think the world is in a better place now than it was 20 years ago?

Love Island is literally about whoring yourself out to the public, its prostitution marketed as entertainment and swathes of people lap it up. Big Brother started it all but at least that had somewhat normal people on it whether they were fat, thin, short, tall, intellectual, uneducated, people with special needs or whatever, a large cross section of society was represented.

Love Island though, it features impossibly good looking people across the board, it results in people getting "jobs" as influencers or brand spokesperson so alot of young people look at it and think well to get famous I need to look a certain way, behave a certain way, its a magnification and celebration of the empty and the vacuous.

It is fecking poison.

I dunno if your asking me a real question or not ? I mean like the advances in medicine in the last 20 years alone should answer your question. Then youd have advanced in automation, flight safety and technology, sports is on a new level altogether. The list is endless.

Honestly I never though about a question like that. What are the areas you see a decline in ?

Maybe you ask the people of Afghanistan if they reckon is better off today than 20 years ago.
They are pretty much back there again except this time there is no chance of anyone coming to remove their overlords.
Perhaps you ask the people of failed states such as Libya or states in ruins such as Syria if they are better off given all the bloodshed they have had and yet have ended up worse off.

Maybe ask the people of Paris, Nice, Stockholm, Manchester, London, Berlin, Brussels, Madrid, New York, Boston if they feel safer in their city today than 20 years ago.

Maybe look at all the creatures that are now much closer to extinct if they are better off.
Maybe look at all the changing climate induced events such as floods, bushfires, huricanes and wonder if the world is better off.

You talk about advances in automation but yet don't consider that automation is going to put millions out of work and on the scrapheap.
You talk about technology when all you are doing is ceding every more control to the multinationals who now won;t let you fix or repair jack sh** but offers an upgrade every other year.

You talk about flight safety and how it is better.
Was it better to have introduced software design methodologies into aircraft design and manufacture?
Perhaps those folks in Ethiopia and Indonesia who lost loved ones to poor design and manufacturer greed might disagree with your assertion.

And you speak of sport and how it is better now.
Well is it?
Lets see the Premier League is now dominated by dodgy investors from Russia, Middle East and the states.
The Champions league likewise where it now battle between best funded sugar daddies.
And hell even our home grown GAA has been dominated by the tax payer funded Dublin and the millionaire funded Limerick.

Yeah sport is now much better, of course assuming you are the one with the golden funding.

As for Love island it is a parade of the lovely people, most of whom haven't two brain cells to rub together, and they are all angling for a celebrity career touting some overpriced shyte to the younger generations who for the most part haven't a fooking clue.

Modern TV is for the most part absolute shyte.
Yes there are the gems, but most reality TV is basically morons often being watched by other morons or people who can't be bloody bothered.
Reality TV is almost like the 21st century version of the 19th century freak show with added chance of nudity and a bit of shagging thrown in.
